Detroit Symphony Orchestra plans Florida tour

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Symphony Orchestra plans to tour Florida with support from a $400,000 grant from the General Motors Foundation.

The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News report the tour featuring the orchestra and music director Leonard Slatkin is scheduled for late February and early March. Performances are planned for West Palm Beach, Miami, Vero Beach, Sarasota and Naples.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Slatkin previously toured Florida in 2010.
